Discovery Call
We realize that scheduling a 1-hour cash-pay visit is a bit of a commitment! If you're like so many who are very interested in functional medicine, but would prefer to meet Dr. Coller to better understand the practice, he would be happy to have you schedule a free 15-minute Discovery Call.
Please Be Aware
The purpose of these calls is to help familiarize you with Dr. Coller and the practice.
No personalized medical advice will be given during a Discovery Call.
All appointments at Precision require patients to place a credit card on file. (This helps keep spam and fake bots away!) However, rest assured that you will not be charged for a Discovery Call.
Pre-Visit Time
Prior to your visit, Dr. Coller will review your intake forms.
He will also briefly review any recent (past 12 months) labs or test results you have uploaded to gain an understanding of what you've already done.
Please keep in mind that the initial visit is intended to be an opportunity for Dr. Coller to get to know you and do a proper intake & interview. Although there may be time for reviewing some test results, it should not be the expectation that the first visit is for an in-depth review of test results.
During your Visit: In-depth History
Dr. Coller will go deeper into your case with you to ensure he has the full picture and understanding of your health concerns.
He will also perform a pertinent physical exam as able/indicated.
During your Visit: Initial Plan Development
Dr. Coller will create an initial plan that may include further testing, medications, supplements, referrals, or other recommendations.
He will create this with you during your visit so that you have clarity about the next steps and your overall plan.
After Visit Time: Documentation
After your visit, Dr. Coller will dedicate additional time to your case as he finalizes your personal care plan.
This will include things such as:
Writing out your detailed care plan
Attaching handouts to your portal
Ordering labs and/or specialty tests
Electronic prescribing of medications
Sending supplement orders to Fullscript
Placing referrals to specialists
Or any additional work that is necessary for your case
Between Visits Time: Test Review
As reports and results come in, Dr. Coller will review them and release them to your portal so that you have access.
If there are any urgent matters that need to be discussed, he will alert you to them.
For all non-urgent matters, Dr. Coller will make notes in preparation for your follow-up visit.
Between Visits Time: Research
As necessary, Dr. Coller will devote time to researching your case.
Between Visits Time: Continued Management
Medication refills, supplement protocol changes, and review of specialist consultations are all common examples of things Dr. Coller will address between visits as they come up.
Between Visits Time: Messaging
Dr. Coller is available to his patients for messaging through the Charm portal.
He is happy to support his patients in this way for simple, reasonable issues that do not merit a full appointment.
Please see the FAQ on messaging for further guidance on this feature.
Pre-Visit Time
Prior to your follow-up visit, Dr. Coller will refresh himself on your case by reviewing his notes, your intake forms, and test results.

Dr. Coller will discuss the changes and progress that you have made in your health since the previous visit.
He will also perform a pertinent physical exam as able/indicated.
During your Visit: Test Review
Next, Dr. Coller will provide an in-depth analysis of your test results.
He will ensure that you understand what they mean and how they are impacting your health.

As before, this may include further testing, medications, supplements, referrals, or other recommendations.
He will create this with you during your visit so that you have clarity about the next steps.

Although Precision Functional Mecidine is not an urgent care, we can assist in some cases.
Dr. Coller may use 20-minute visits in the following cases:
To provide you with guidance on acute issues
To review any unexpected changes to your health and make minor modifications to your health plan
For local patients, he can perform COVID, flu, and strep testing on-site.
Urgent issues that he may address include:
Upper respiratory symptoms
Musculoskeletal injury
Abdominal/digestive symptoms
Urinary symptoms
Skin/dermatological concerns
Or other acute symptoms
In some cases, we may be able to address and treat your concerns during the visit.
However, we may ultimately recommend that you visit the urgent care or the emergency department for further evaluation and treatment.
In either case, we will do our best to guide you to where you will get the most appropriate and cost-effective care.
Prolotherapy is an excellent, minimally invasive treatment option for many connective tissue concerns including arthritis, and chronic joint laxity from repeated sprains and strains. Click here to learn more.
Prolotherapy Visits
Dr. Coller will review your intake forms, take a brief history, and perform a focused exam on the area(s) of concern
Dr. Coller will discuss treatment options which may include prolotherapy, prolozone, or other options
If an injection therapy is indicated, he will ensure that you have completed the appropriate consent form(s)
Dr. Coller will explain and perform the procedure
Finally, he will provide you with home instructions and follow-up recommendations
Important Things to Be Aware of:
Although the intake form is the same, an initial prolotherapy visit does not include a full functional medicine evaluation & treatment plan. A full evaluation must be scheduled as a 60-minute Initial Visit.
Similarly, prolotherapy treatments cannot be included in another visit type. Patients may schedule a regular office visit and prolotherapy treatment back-to-back, but they must be scheduled as separate visits.
